A Quiet Urgency in the Land

There is a call to remember what it means to belong to a living world.

Why Restoration Matters

The Health of Communities Is Inseparable from the Health of Ecosystems

Over the past several decades, we have witnessed accelerating ecological degradation—topsoil loss, watershed decline, biodiversity collapse, and the quiet disappearance of species that once defined our landscapes.

At the same time, a growing number of people have become disconnected from the land that sustains them, living in ways that no longer reflect an understanding of natural systems.

The Regenerative Stewardship Sanctuary emerges at the intersection of these two realities—a response to the fundamental question of how ecological restoration, community education, and human wellbeing can evolve together.

Many Paths. One Center.

Created by Becky Devaleriola, Seraphina-RA is the philosophical foundation—a framework for understanding the deep relationship between human renewal and ecological recovery.

Core Conviction

Caring for land is not merely an environmental act but a profoundly human one. The restoration of ecosystems and the restoration of community purpose are part of the same continuum. Seraphina-RA provides the ethical and conceptual grounding for everything the Sanctuary undertakes.

A Shift in Understanding

Lasting ecological change requires more than technical expertise. It requires a shift in how we understand our relationship with the living world—a recognition that human renewal and ecological renewal are not separate processes, but expressions of the same deep pattern of regeneration.

Five Guiding Pillars

A Circular System of Mutual Reinforcement

Five interconnected principles inform every decision—from how the land is restored to how programs are designed to how communities are invited to participate.

Ecological Restoration

Degraded landscapes are systematically restored through native plantings, soil regeneration, wetland recovery, and the re-establishment of natural processes. Restoration is understood not as a one-time intervention but as an ongoing relationship with the land.

Wildlife Stewardship

The Sanctuary is designed around the needs of wildlife—not as an afterthought, but as a central organizing principle. Habitat corridors, nesting areas, pollinator zones, and undisturbed refugia are integrated into every aspect of the landscape design.

Environmental Learning

Knowledge is the bridge between awareness and action. The Sanctuary provides structured and experiential learning opportunities that equip individuals with practical skills in regenerative practices and ecological literacy.

Community Participation

Lasting ecological change requires community ownership. The Sanctuary actively invites participation from local residents, schools, civic organizations, and cultural groups—ensuring that stewardship becomes a shared practice.

Nature-Based Wellbeing

Meaningful engagement with natural environments supports human health—reducing stress, restoring attention, and fostering a sense of purpose. Programs in forest bathing, mindfulness, and reflective practice are woven throughout.

Restoration is not a project with an end date. It is a practice—a way of being in relationship with the land that sustains us.

The Dreamer Behind the Vision

Becky Devaleriola

A lifetime of experiences converging into a single, coherent vision for regenerative land stewardship.

The Regenerative Stewardship Sanctuary did not emerge from a single moment of inspiration. It is the culmination of decades of work, observation, and deepening commitment to the relationship between people and the natural world.

Becky Devaleriola brings a breadth of experience spanning administrative leadership, environmental programming, and community engagement. Over decades of service in leadership roles, she has developed the organizational acumen to manage complex operations, build collaborative relationships, and sustain long-term institutional vision.

Her experience in environmental education and community programming has shaped her understanding of how people learn best when engaged with living systems. What distinguishes Becky's leadership is the quality of integration she brings: she sees conservation, education, and community wellbeing not as separate domains but as aspects of a single, coherent endeavor.
